Short Form - The annual Mid-Missouri Soap Box Derby is a fun event for kids of all ages to learn about building and racing. Each year, kids spend several weeks building their carts and learning how to steer and brake. On race day, hundreds of volunteers flood the streets of Columbia to facilitate a bracket-style racing event where the kids, win or lose, have a blast.

News Story – COVID-19 affected many parts of normal life. Clayton Lake State Park was no exception. The campground, beach and trails saw less traffic and with it, less revenue. Locals have enjoyed the serenity of the park but expect Memorial Day to draw a crowd.
